Oh hi. How are you doing?

If you waited for Garlond, he won't come. Instead, there's a woman calling out to you, her uniform clearly tells she's here on his behalf. Her gaze cold as steel but her tone unexpectedly warm, she'll fix your mount, enhance your weapon, exchange your tomestones or just give a word of advice.
She's Viore Paystar, and her story starts anew just after the Song of Oblivion.

Introduction

FieldValue
NameViore Paystar-Hemlock
RaceHyur, Midlander
Age30
AffiliationGarlond Ironworks
OccupationEngineer, Alchemist, Vehicle Expert
Place of BirthGridania, Eorzean Alliance

Gridanian born and raised, Viore picked up basics of her parents' jobs - caprentry and leatherworking - before spending time in Ul'dah to ear qualifications in goldsmithing and alchemy.
Understanding of aether manipulation through potionwork, along with innate Echo, allowed her to spend less time understanding the workings of magitek as she tried to study captured Garlean tech during Baelsar's invasion.
After Baelsar's campaign failed, her childhood friend Mireille managed to convince her to go adventuring together with both ultimately enlisting as a piloting crew in Ishgard. While Mireille focused on piloting and cartography exclusively, Viore branched into engineering with Skysteel, and later on had her hand in the most ambitious project after the Ragnarok - a large-scale passenger airship: joint effort of Skysteel Manufactury, Garlond Ironworks and former Imperial Magitek Research.

IAS Accord Incident

Shortly after the aether imbalance crisis, Viore found herself with quite some time on her hands, and enrolled in airship piloting courses. Having valuable experience with magitek vehicles, after a considerable amount of work and formalization, she got her captain's rank.
This, along with familiarity with Garlean technology, put her on the shortlist for a joint project between the Alliance and slowly restoring Garlemald - a large passenger airship called Accord. She has passed numerous tests and acceptance routines and was set for a maiden flight.
Shortly after takeoff on her flight from Centri to Mor Dhona, airship lost majority of her thrust and hydraulics. Viore's initial plan was to divert from the route and park the ship around , but lack of altitude and airspeed brought the ship down in Revenant's Toll. Out of 85 passengers and 15 crew, only 10 survived. Worse yet, a large number of residential houses in Revenant's Toll were destroyed upon impact and with subsequent fire, racking the amount of casualties several times up.
Given the nature of the project, the initial version was piloting error, and unfortunately for Viore, it's been mulled over long enough to imprint in general public. Several mechanical flaws were later dislosed and published, but with much less coverage, given the time passed.
After being released from gaol where she was put during the investigation, Viore appealed her piloting ban. Ultimately though, due to reputation costs, she had to settle for reinstation with a lifetime ban on piloting large commercial airships. This, however, did not put out her obsession with finding mechanical weaknesses, so she managed to find a permanent place within Ironworks as a vehicle expert. And in order not to hurt company's reputation, she diligently takes her name off public reports and blueprint descriptions.

Meeting Viore

  • Ironworks: obvious choice. She will fix anything for you and entertain you with a talk if you want to. Chances are, she already knows your name too. Or are you working together?

  • Alchemy: whatever the potion or alkahest you need, she'll do her best to provide you with one. Her spectrum is broad and includes even those you wouldn't mention in public.

  • Freedom through technology; pleasure through alchemy.

  • Accord: Did you happen to know anyone on board? Did you yourself survive the crash? You know the pilot everyone was talking about walked from gaol.

  • Tattoo: During her time in gaol, Viore picked up some arts... If you're itching for some ink, why not give her a chance?
